Daniel Chatel, PhD ABPP-CP
Clinical Neuropsychologist
Dr. Chatel received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology from the University of Arizona’s APA-approved doctoral program here in Tucson. He completed an APPIC-approved predoctoral internship in neuropsychology at the Yale New Haven Medical School/West Haven VA Medical Center consortium in Connecticut in 1991 followed by a two-year APPIC and APA Division 40-approved postdoctoral residency in neuropsychology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1993. Dr. Chatel has been board-certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) since 2004. He is currently licensed as a psychologist in Arizona and California. Dr. Chatel retired from the VA Palo Alto CA Health Care System in 2019 after 28 years of public service in the VA. He also served as an officer and psychologist in the United States Air Force Reserve for 15 years. Professional affiliations include the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the International Neuropsychological Society, and the American Psychological Association. His clinical interests include cognitive sequelae of long covid, neurodegenerative spectrum disorders, vascular dementia, traumatic brain injury, and seizure disorder. Dr. Chatel enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and three dogs, as well as riding his motorcycles.
