Our Mission
With over 50 years of combined experience serving southern Arizona and the greater Tucson area, the mission of The Neuropsychology Institute (TNI) is to provide the highest quality care to our patients, to actively contribute to the advancement of the field of neuropsychology, and to improve the lives of those in our community.
Who We Are
The Neuropsychology Institute is a team of licensed clinical neuropsychologists and psychologists dedicated to helping patients and families understand the "why" behind cognitive, emotional, and developmental challenges. Our providers hold advanced credentials — including board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) — and bring specialized training from institutions such as the University of Arizona, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Yale New Haven Medical School, and the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Several of our providers are Tucson natives or have called southern Arizona home for decades, and our team includes specialists trained in adult neuropsychology, pediatric and neurodevelopmental assessment, forensic and medical-legal evaluation, and FAA aviation neuropsychology — including the only aviation neuropsychologist in southern Arizona qualified to perform FAA/pilot evaluations.

What We Do
TNI offers comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological evaluation services for both adults and children.
For adults, we evaluate a wide range of neurological, psychiatric, and chronic health conditions, including memory loss and dementia (Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal dementia), traumatic brain injury, stroke, ADHD, and the cognitive effects of conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and psychiatric illness. We also provide specialized evaluations for FAA/pilot certification, presurgical deep brain stimulator (DBS), bariatric, and spinal cord stimulator (SCS) candidacy, and forensic/medical-legal matters, including independent medical examinations and expert testimony.
For children and adolescents, we evaluate suspected neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Specific Learning Disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia).
Our Approach
A neuropsychological evaluation is more than testing — it's a process of understanding. Our evaluations combine clinical interviews, standardized testing, and, where appropriate, input from family members or caregivers to build a complete picture of each patient's cognitive strengths and challenges. We work collaboratively with patients and their families throughout the process: explaining what to expect, walking through results in a follow-up feedback session, and providing clear, practical recommendations that can guide treatment, accommodations, and next steps.
We believe an accurate diagnosis is the foundation for effective care — whether that means confirming a diagnosis, ruling one out, or simply providing clarity after years of unanswered questions.
Our Commitment to Tucson
TNI has built its practice around long-term relationships with the Tucson and southern Arizona community. We work closely with referring physicians, schools, and other healthcare providers, and we keep our waitlist short so patients and families don't have to wait long for answers. We do not require a referral to schedule an appointment.
